Shannon L. Boudreaux

Partner

Shannon L. Boudreaux is a passionate advocate for her clients, working on their behalf to help them reshape their lives, their families, and their futures. For over two decades, she has helped reunite parents with their children and helped clients negotiate contentious custody disputes.

Ms. Boudreaux represents men and women, adults and children, gay and straight, and everyone in between. Her understanding of Texas family law and its various legal codes is an important asset in guiding individuals and families through an often anxiety-riddled process.

As a Texas family law attorney, Ms. Boudreaux works hand in hand with people from all walks of life in a variety of legal matters, including:

Client Victories

Divorce and family law is unique, as few other areas involve the same amount of emotional strain and compromise, but even with those challenges, Ms. Boudreaux’s track record is stellar. Throughout her career, she’s obtained amazing results for her clients, including:

  • Representing an active, loving father in a divorce where she was able to obtain a 50/50 visitation order, which was unheard of at the time (10+ years ago).
  • Obtaining a 50/50 visitation agreement for the father of a toddler in a divorce matter.

All The Way To Trial

In addition to negotiating like hell on behalf of her clients, Ms. Boudreaux has handled countless of bench trials in her determination to get the best results for her clients.

In one case, she represented a father in a jury trial who had been alienated from his family. The negotiations were so difficult that the case went all the way to a jury trial, which ruled in her clients’ favor, allowing the man’s daughters to get on a plane with their father that very night.

“No-Marriage” Separation

With the number of couples “cohabiting” instead of marrying steadily going up, Ms. Boudreaux has handled several cohabitation and “no-nuptial” agreements in Texas. This allows couples that live together without the legal distinction of marriage to protect their assets and families should a separation occur.

LGBTQIA+ Family Issues

Ms. Boudreaux has a unique background in the new and complex world of “gay divorce”. The laws in Texas surrounding LGBTQ marriage can be unclear, making divorce, custody, and related issues challenging for attorneys and their clients. In fact, some Texas Appellate Courts have issued contradictory rulings on almost the same issues.

In spite of these difficulties, Ms. Boudreaux has been able to handle even the most contentious matters, and has been able to get her clients as much time with their family as possible.

Pet Custody Battles

For many families, pets are children. Ms. Boudreaux is a fierce defender of animal rights, and as such she has a unique expertise in helping negotiate custody agreements involving cats, dogs, and all manner of pets.
